His Eminence Sheikh Aql of the Druze monotheistic faith (Tawhid), Sheikh Naeem Hasan received in the community's house today the priest of the parish of the Church of Our Lady of Durr in Mukhtara, Father Eid Bu Rashid, in the presence of Sheikh Fawzat Al-Orm. Bu Rashid presented to His Eminence his book, which he recently launched, "The Church of Al Mukhtara between the Chair and the House - Pages from the History of the Druze and the Maronites". He thanked His Eminence for sending a representative to the book's launch ceremony in the National Library - Baakline. Father Bu Rashid also explained the importance of the book and the topics it deals with, especially in the current circumstances that require a return to the historical tracks of relations between Druze and Christians in the Lebanese mountain, and the importance of its preservation.
Sheikh Al-Aql thanked Father Bu Rashid for the new book, noting that “it deals with the social and spiritual relations in Al Mukhtara and the mountain, which is what the nation needs in general – to preserve those historical relations and the values of caring, convergence and solidarity, and to preserve them in a way that preserves the mountain and its coexistence, for the word of the Lebanese to be unified, in order to cross the difficulties the country is going through.
Sheikh Al-Aql chaired a meeting of the Board of Directors of the confessional council, which discussed a number of general issues and topics, in addition to internal affairs.
