Sheikh Aql of the Druze monotheistic faith (Tawhid), Sheikh Naeem Hasan had a phone call with the Vice-President of the Supreme Islamic Shiite Council, Sheikh Ali Al-Khatib, where they exchanged thoughts about the current situation and what took place today at the town of Shwayya, during which both concluded to emphasize the common understanding in rejection of any aggression form the enemy as well as the national right of responding to it. His Eminence emphasized the importance of making joint efforts aimed at remedying any incidental matter that might harm the will of solidarity, as well as working hard in order to maintain the stability of the national arena.
Emphasis was also placed on missing opportunities for those who fish in muddy waters, in causing any rift that only serves the common enemy and its schemes.
The office of His Eminence and the Sectarian Council of the Druze monotheistic faith (Tawhid) issued the following statement:
The past hours have witnessed a state of confusion and agitation that does not express the true spirit of national solidarity carried by the people of the south and the Lebanese in general, and the members of the well-known community, whose history and present bear witness to the depth of national, Arab and Islamic affiliation.
In these fateful conditions that the country is going through, we call upon everyone to assume their responsibilities in the spirit of national partnership, and we call for calming the souls, resorting to reason, and acting wisely and appreciating any step, position or behavior to avoid exposing residential and civil areas to any danger and not to slip into arguments and fall into the pitfalls of treason and incitement.
In this regard, we reiterate our refusal to cutting off roads on citizens in any area and from any side, and there is a need for cooperation between the security forces and institutions to put an end to this matter.
