On the occasion of the blessed Eid Al-Adha, His Eminence Sheikh Aql of the Druze monotheistic faith (Tawhid), Sheikh Naeem Hasan sent a message on the eve of Eid, in which he said:

2021-07-19

In the name of God the Merciful,
Praise be to God, Lord of the worlds, and blessings and peace be upon Muhammad, the greatest of the Messengers and the seal of the Prophets, and peace and blessings be upon him and his followers.
Al-Adha brings us back to the origins, to the Sacred House which has been a pilgrimage to the people (from every deep ravine), in response to the command of God, in a thrive to accept His wisdom, and longing to the satisfaction of obedience, acceptance and faith. They come closer with a sign of redemption, longing, sacrifice and the conscience of the believer, as in the verse (God will not accept its meat nor its blood, but He shall be accept your piety) (Hajj: 73).
God gave us piety, for it is one of the fruits of the good hearts in argument with hearts that are absent, which the world has embraced in its lower sense: money and power.
And the believers and the monotheists draw near to their Lord with obedience, during days of blessings which held in its value the heritage of Ibrahim.
It is a legacy imbedded in the civilizations that arose over humanity, because the “Kitab” was filled with enlightenment and direction.
And Jerusalem is the city of peace - no matter how nations insights lacked, will be witness of the past and future, in its symbols and its monuments, on the faith and in its core the meaning of the sacrifice, and in essence that man abandons during the moment of truth all matters related to the wild power of desires, in shape and in value, to become a brother in humanity for all his counterparts in creation.”
This meaning was devoted in its sense to be not only the Eid, but also remarkably blessed days, as mentioned by the holy book of the Prophet Abraham and the sacrifice of his son (a great slaughter) (Al Safat: 107).
It was from the wisdom of God that the rites and the believers be performed in a state of Ihram. The Ihram represents surrendering of all the lows of the world in sanctity of seeking the path, standing and wandering in response to the will of God, and in compliance with the purposes of the verses of satisfaction and longing to His approval.
The true Eid is for a person to stand before the mirror of his soul to see its conditions according in comparison to the truth.
We do not need to draw the attention to the current turmoil in the world today, and the trend that increasingly rising continuously towards the conflict between the great powers to dominate the spheres of influence under control strategies and to control the land and the people and the sources of energy and everything vital in any place.
We do not need this while our country is offering sacrifice for the sake of national interests of the various parts at the expense of the formative essence, which was founded on the understanding and harmony and coexistence and the will to live together under one banner.
It is a ferocious tragedy that causes the Lebanese citizen to completely abandon his sectarian affiliation.
And which kind of sense of citizenship - which is the way belonging to the state which shall protect its citizens – in the midst of this horrendous devastation that we are accumulating day after day in the worst crisis of living, health, social and economic levels.
Unfortunately, due to the abandonment of the officials of any responsibility for national duty and any sacrifices for the benefit of the homeland and citizens, to ward off the danger and to stop the collapse.
Rather, what is the purpose of the entire constitution when it becomes weak orphan words in the absence of the will to cooperate and collaborate and in the absence of mutual respect? It was said in the past that "two negatives do not build a nation." Are we today in a time of which groups have turned into populist blocks intent on denying each other in every area? Above all, institutions, sectors, service structures, and the purchasing value are all declining in a way which we have never witnessed since independence.
What a celebration coinciding with the centenary of our Lebanese entity?
IS there any single beam left of the cracked and collapsing structure? Do we have something left that will preserve our national immunity to the resentment of the international community to save us from what have shamed us? Is there any water left in the faces of those who decide to ask about the necessity of protecting the majority of the people from poverty and suffering? Is there any one beam left that can be built on, for Lebanon to have a government in the fastest time possible? To stop this linear avalanche and to open the door to subsequent steps that would allow a serious path to begin.
We will not lose hope despite this disintegration that affected everything in Lebanon.
Change is inevitably coming.
In our faith we ask for shelter from the One who is Merciful and Generous, asking Him that the door of His mercy would open to our people, and to inspire us always towards the stability of our hearts in good distinction and veneration of virtue, values, goodness, sublimation, altruism, sacrifice, love and spiritual peace; for our souls to live up and towards a humane decent dignified life, no matter how intense the odds have been.
These values are the meanings of Al-Adha.
On this blessed day we also renew our appeal to members of the community as to all Lebanese, and invite them to unity, solidarity, cooperation, collaboration and convergence and to tighten their belts and to converge their efforts and synergies in the face of many challenges, and for the civil initiatives to come together in addition to the efforts of institutions, associations and crises cells in villages to extend a helping hand to each other, and we appreciate the role of our children in the diaspora.
We ask the Almighty that this Eid is an occasion for good for all to be inspired by, through each of us in acceptance and will to perform our roles and to work for the public benefit, for this alone would save the people and the society.
May God Almighty return this occasion on our country and its people with goodness, and He is a the good helper to us all.
