Message of His Eminence Sheikh Aql of the Druze monotheistic faith (Tawhid), Sheikh Naeem Hasan on the occasion of the blessed month of Ramadan

In the name of God the Merciful,
Praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds, and blessings and peace be upon the greatest of His Messengers and his family and companions, until the Day of Judgment.
The month of mercy and bounty falls upon us and upon our sheltered nation and its agonizing people, the month of divine grace, whose light dissipated the darkness of the age of Ignorance (Jahiliyyah). No mercy is more graceful than the blessing of awakening the soul from its negligence and the prisons of its delusions and ambitions towards its freedom with justice, wisdom, and the will of goodness for the creations of God! No grace is more honorable than being alerted of submission to the whims of one’s soul, which forces evil towards human awareness of the honor of virtue and the acts of righteousness and applause! And no virtue is greater than what was given by the Lord of worshipers in this month. ﴾We have sent down to you a clear light. ﴿
Fasting is a blessing for its purposes that are related to the sanctity of this month. It represents meeting with the blessing and the grace in praise and thanksgiving through prayer and praise, with piety and sensing, with a polite presence through remembrance and gratitude, and with good intention towards the self and purifying it from all evil, as well as towards the human community in terms of participation, familiarity and good initiative for God Almighty in the field of fruits, which He desires for man, as a testimony for his appropriate choice in the sense of paths of “ following virtue and forbidding evil”.
We will never lose the vast mercy of God in a country that was neglected by those responsible of caring for it, that is impossible. It is unbelievable how can these people consecrate what their imaginations and the harvest of their souls create in order to preserve the rugged paths that do not open a door of hope for a people who will soon stand in the moment of time that marks the passage of half a century of the continuation of their wars and the wars of others on their land. Rather, how could the issue of managing its operation by forming a government in accordance with the constitution become a matter of such enormous difficulty? Furthermore, how could matters turn to the prolonged stalling and destructive tension that toppled everything that Lebanon was proud of among the nations, until it became a cause of lament and pity among them?
What image can be presented of the miserable and sustainable state of our country thanks to these officials other than this? We are ashamed of the repetition of the importance and urge to preserve the national values and the combined life of all the elements of the unique Lebanese society, and the call for wisdom and a sense of responsibility, and the initiative to do the right actions. Rather, we have the feeling that the ears have stopped hearing the word of truth, prudence and sobriety. For sure, it has become very shameful as you know.
Ramadan Kareem, a month of goodness and mercy. With goodness and mercy are the fuel of the conscience and the inner voice. This means in the fruits of life, that the cooperation of people through kindness and sympathy, while their tongues repeat word and deed in thought and heart. ﴾Whoever does an atom weight of goodness will return to him. He who does the weight of an atom of evil will return to him. ﴿ Faith is not shaken by the evil-doings of the unjust, ﴾God is the best keepers and the most merciful. ﴿
