His Eminence, Sheikh Aql of the Druze monotheistic faith (Tawhid), Sheikh Naeem Hasan received at the Community House in Beirut, the head of the “Change Movement”, lawyer Elie Mahfoud, accompanied by the head of the “Free Lebanese Movement”, Bassam Khodor Agha. A number of general issues and topics were reviewed.
After the meeting, Mahfoud said, "We met with His Eminence the Sheikh in this house that is always open to all Lebanese for gathering and for dialogue." Mahfoud expressed his regret "for all countries progressing towards positive advancements, while Lebanon moving back towards further deterioration and retreat. Starting with Egypt, which celebrates the heritage and civilization, to the consensus that took place about the country of Jordan. I the meantime, you find the Lebanese longing for immigration and queuing in front of embassies because of the lack of confidence. "
Mahfoud added: "In the Bible it is mentioned that the house that is divided among itself gets destroyed. As long as we continue to disagree about the national vision and the deep divisions that exist, we could never reach an agreement at least on the interests and the future of our children, knowing that even during the previous wars we did not witness such lack of confidence between the leaders. All of this is in the presence of citizens who still hope that tomorrow would be better despite the dark tunnel, which they are facing nowadays. We discussed with His Eminence the importance of the homeland, which can only be built through the 18 sects present in it, knowing that there is no merit for a sect over its counterpart, and this is a great blessing for the country, "calling in this context "to build a state for all its people. He added, "We shall move forward with our tour for the sake of giving a spirit of hope and confidence to the Lebanese, and to establish a country that is protected by its army and a judiciary system that governs to build a new nation,” wishing to "form a new government that would be made in Lebanon."
In addition, Sheikh Al-Aql received a delegation from the Al-Masry family headed by lawyer Dr. Zeina Al-Masry, who presented to His Eminence the association's activities, especially the social activities related to the current situation.
His Eminence also met member of the Confessional Council and member of Beirut Endowment Committee, Sheikh Sami Abdel-Khaleq as well as Mr. Jihad Al-Zuhairi, who presented with His Eminence a number of issues related to public affairs.
Later, His Eminence held a business meeting with the Secretary of the Sectarian Council, Lawyer Nizar Al-Baradei, the head of the Social Committee in the Council, lawyer Ghada Jumblatt, and the head of the Administrative Committee, retired Brigadier General Bassam Abu Al-Hosn, and discussed the internal work of the committees.
Then His Eminence chaired a meeting for the Board of Directors of the Confessional Council, during which a number of issues and topics were discussed, as well as internal and general administrative affairs.
