His Eminence, Sheikh Aql of the Druze monotheistic faith (Tawhid), Sheikh Naeem Hasan expressed his deepest grief over the dangerous events that the city of Tripoli has witnessed at a very delicate stage in the country's history, at a time when people's lives and living conditions were at the worst levels of poverty and need, to worsen the misery which the Lebanese are confronting in all areas and in their daily living, while the people of authority in the government and in the positions of responsibility are drowning in a state of greed in search of special gains on the ashes of a burning country.
As His Eminence stressed that the country can no longer tolerate this procrastination, obstruction and destruction by any means, he called in a statement for a comprehensive national movement that crosses sects and regions - that would include all patriots keen to prevent the collapse of the state, who must take the initiative within what is allowed by the constitution and what is guaranteed by law, and within their national duties, to save not only Tripoli and its people, but all of Lebanon and the Lebanese, as the officials are unable to fulfill their responsibilities in this regard.
