A plenary session at the sectarian council, and Sheikh Al-Aql Sheikh, His Eminence Sheikh Naeem Hasan calls on officials to form a capable government and to stay away from malicious behavior

The General Authority of the Confessional Council of the Druze monotheistic faith (Tawhid) held its meeting headed by His Eminence Sheikh Al Aql Naeem Hasan, in the presence of the Minister of Information in the caretaker government, Dr. Manal Abdel Samad Najd, judges from the sect, members of the board of directors and members. It included a discussion about the agenda on the affairs of the Council and its committees.
The confessional council shared its greeting to the members of the honorable Christian sects on the occasion of the birthday of Christ and the New Year, and wished for the New Year to come in the best condition for Lebanon and the Lebanese citizens.
His Eminence, Sheikh Al-Aql, Sheikh Naeem Hasan, also uttered the following word:
Lebanon is in the eye of the storm; its crisis is deep and complex. What emphasizes its danger are politicians who are clinging to the decision of authority and obstruction, where the obsession with control and defeat appears as it is well known and witnessed. We have reservations about dealing with the members of the Druze monotheistic faith (Tawhid), who by their nature and attributes are dominated by the human and moral dimensions of politics and are not taken by sectarianism which is harmful to the values of the nation.
He added, "We, and with your honorable council, remind again that the Druze monotheists are anchored in their homeland as the cedar forest at the heights of the Barouk and the highest white peaks on the mountain of “Jabal Al Sheikh”. They have the land and the ancient oaks. They are the brave men of whom in the distant and near history sacrificed their souls - not for the chairs of power and authority, but for the sake of building Lebanon and for breaking the siege and who opened the path of Lebanese resistance against our enemies leading to the fields of liberation."
His Eminence added, "From this meeting, we say to the officials: I urge you to form a government capable of accomplishing the minimum amount of reforms that would reopen the door to negotiations with donors in order to extend the Lebanese economy, for the citizens have begun to suffer under the weight of life expenses, high prices, unemployment, poverty and the pandemic. I urge you to purify the administration, be builders of the state of law, the constitution, and the fair and independent judiciary system, generalize our unity and solidarity, stay away from the malicious objectives that distort the slogans on which the Lebanese people are united. We need leaders, social activists, civil associations, parties, municipalities, religious bodies, and people of thought and culture to join efforts to ward off the challenges posed by all aspects of economic hardship. Addressing the Coronavirus pandemic should be based on awareness of prevention measures for individuals, families and groups in a serious, in a rational and wise manner. This is an emergency measure to protect our people and to provide real support to our hospitals and medical teams. "
His Eminence concluded, "We must be aware of the dangers of this stage. We must be wise. We shall support each other no matter what the opinions differ. God is the giver of success, and He is counted on at all times and the only Helper."
