His Eminence, Sheikh Aql of the Druze monotheistic faith (Tawhid), Sheikh Naeem Hasan expressed great sorrow that the memory of independence for our country passes through these unprecedented difficult circumstances caused by the accumulated crises, burdens, diffculties, worries and complications, which raise questions and great surprise to us regarding the failure of the ruling class to take any serious step to save Lebanon as a state and as a community from this hardship, but rather they express inability to extricate themselves from the shackles of sectarian political quotas and division, under the excuse of inclusive patriotism and the greater public interest.
His Eminence hoped in a statement that the people concerned in a potential solution would learn the lesson behind the independence in order to realize the responsibility entrusted to them to change the situation of Lebanon and the Lebanese under the impact of collapse and loss of existence. At the same time his Eminence saluted all the believers in the values and the spirit of independence who are working to fortify it against all the difficulties, hoping that the values of this memory would be transformed into real lessons such that Lebanon will remain.
