In the name of God the Merciful,
Praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds, and blessings and peace be upon the greatest of the Messengers, and upon all his descendants and companions, until the Day of Judgment.
The meaning of the birth of the Messenger (PBUH) rests in the consciousness and heart of every Muslim in the world, may God bless him and grant him peace. It was a birth that set the stage for the dawn of the morning light after a long darkness. A birth by which the truth was examined, the pillars of falsehood were shaken, and when the time came, truth was revealed to his heart through God’s will, and the signs of mercy were manifested as the straight path became in the unification of God, the One and only, the Most Merciful, the Compassionate, the Noble Pardon, the Strong, the Just, the Wise, and the all-Knowing of what is in our hearts.
The Muslim person preserves this great merit by praying and obeying God’s command for good and forbidding what is wrong by God. And he preserves it by sociability of the soul, with the praiseworthy remembrance, and with the goodness of creation, and by holding on to the requirements of justice and righteousness. The Islamic spirit is inspired by the aims of the message, guided by the Sunnah of the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, and takes him as a model and delights in what was stated in the noble hadith: “I was sent to complete the honorable morals.”
History is full of tragedies of the tendency of the soul to go follow the demands of passion and lust for conquest and to slide into the bondage of oppression and tyranny and seeking corruption on earth. Indeed, in our contemporary life, we are all witnessing a reversal of the meaning of values, and a contempt for the ideals that, after two devastating world wars, pushed humanity to establish a moral body to look after human rights and to distance states and nations from descending into the abyss of wars and conflicts. Today we see that dream of peace as the prey of the holders of power who disrupted all ports of harmony, and thus we are witnessing an increase in wars and the loss of lives, money and energy for the sake of killing and destruction.
The worst part is insistence on destabilizing the inheritance of nations, as if the road map for the holders of brute power is a clash of civilizations. It is a shame that we are exposed to the bearers of the divine message under the name of freedom that is not based on respect for the feelings of others. We fell ashamed when we see in our days these great and capable countries that are unable to protect the health security of their citizens, and others, while they are devoted to conflicts and tireless work to expand their area of influence and enforce facts on the roar of bombing and setting fires.
We in Lebanon regret that an unprecedented crisis dragged on in terms of the acceleration of signs of collapse in many of the state's components and even collapse of a decent life. What is important in the opportunity provided today with regard to forming a government is to overcome the matters that corrupted the functioning of the democratic system. There are national principles that must be given priority: efficiency, integrity, and balance, not in the sense of quotas, but rather in the sense of national solidarity and positive harmony in the decision-making authority. This shall be a drive towards real reform, liberating the will of the administrations at all levels for the sake of the national interest, and removing private interests in favor of serving the public field. The public domain is in its precise meaning the prospects of citizenship, freedoms under the roof of the law, and ending the encroachment on public funds with all suspicious methods in the interest of the Lebanese state’s treasury. Of course, it is also necessary to provide the free space that is given to the judiciary and its immunity in the face of interference. It is imperative that our national army be respected and supported, as it is the duty of all political forces in this regard to remove the cover from all manifestations that undermine the prestige of the army.
The remembrance of the Prophet’s birthday is an occasion to stand before the values that would illuminate a person’s heart, enabling him to realize the meaning of his humanity. In this sense, proper human personality is built, societies are built and homelands are also built. We ask God Almighty to inspire us to the fruits of the purposes of His message, and to support every rightful and just stance with His help and victory. For God is the best Sire and Destiny.
