His Eminence Sheikh Aql of the Druze monotheistic faith (Tawhid), Sheikh Naeem Hasan received at the Community House in Beirut today, the Pontifical Mariami Center for Religious Dialogue in Lebanon, based in the Vatican, which included the Chairman of the Episcopal Committee for Islamic Christian Dialogue, Archbishop Matthias Charles Murad, the President of the Khoury Center, Wissam Abu Nasser, and the members, Mr. Ali Sayyed Qassem, Archimandrite Elias Abu Shaya, Sheikh Ali Al-Janani, Sheikh Amer Zain Al-Din, Sheikh Saleh Hamed, Dr. Elie Elias, and the media figure Ildico Elia. The delegation put Sheikh Al-Aql in the picture regarding establishing the center and its general objectives, most notably the promotion and strengthening of bonds of convergence, dialogue and love, in addition to targeted activities in this regard.
His Eminence welcomed the delegation, praising the goals of the center, calling for success on the unifying foundations of humanity from which it emerged from, the commonalities between religions in meeting and loving and kind words that sow good, and the convergence of the Lebanese in preserving the values of coexistence and diversity and the preservation of the homeland and its unity.
Sheikh Al-Aql also received the Media Commissioner of the Progressive Socialist Party, Saleh Hodaifa, and a number of public issues and topics were discussed, especially the ones of which related to media.
