His Eminence, Sheikh Aql of the Druze monotheistic faith (Tawhid), Sheikh Naeem Hasan, stressed the importance of all Lebanese being aware of the urgent need for solidarity, cooperation, and the spirit of patriotism and adherence to the pure loyalty to their homeland, Lebanon, especially during these difficult and fateful circumstances after a hundred years of our country’s existence.
His Eminence stated in a statement that Lebanon, which was born on the idea of freedom, diversity, convergence and tolerance since the Emirate of Mount Lebanon, which was established with Emir Fakhreddin, and was consecrated by the declaration on the first of September 1920. It shall not stand strong without these values and principles on which it was based, and thus the invitation and the call to officials and citizens to preserve all those values, and to establish a single national coexistence within a diverse pluralistic framework and under the umbrella of freedom of opinion and expression, as well as personal and public freedom, to remain the reason behind the existence of this country. In order to build on it in a solid way to develop all our systems in line with the aspirations of the people who suffered much, the time has come for the Lebanese to enjoy a state of justice, freedom, equality and patriotism, a country in which social tranquility and decent living prevail. Only then remains the “Great Lebanon”.
