The message of his Eminence, Sheikh Aql of the Druze monotheistic faith (Tawhid), Sheikh Naeem Hasan, on the occasion of the blessed month of Ramadan
In the name of God the Merciful
Praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds, and prayers and peace be upon the most honored of the Prophets our Master Muhammad and upon all his family and companions, until the Day of Judgment

We enter in the blessing of God into the reign of the month of guidance, with all the grace that the noble Creator has given to all his loving worshipers. And the believers sense their spiritual being with His mercy, as He dispelled the darkness of the soul by the light of obedience and knowledge, and cracked the customs that blinded the insights in a time when people were ignorant of the true meaning of monotheism, so they established idols before their eyes and in their hearts, so that God sent his messenger prophet (PBUH) to them, and the words of God descended upon them from heavens as proof to which the believers have listened, and through it they accepted life on the basis of the command of everything known to be graceful and forbidding of everything known to be unethical, based on faith in one God, and in his holy book and the spectrum of its radiant lights which shine with all good.
Mercy is universal until the Day of Judgment. “Believers are those who, when Allah is mentioned, feel a tremor in their hearts, and when they hear His signs rehearsed, find their faith strengthened, and put (all) their trust in their Lord (Al-Anfal 2)”. They are patient in the misfortune and bad times, those who believed and feared and recited from the Book of God Almighty, “Righteousness is not that you turn your faces toward the east or the west but [true] righteousness is [in] one who believes in Allah the Last Day the angels the Book and the prophets (Al-Baqarah 177)”. They prayed also, “Be sure we shall test you with something of fear and hunger, some loss in goods or lives or the fruits (of your toil) but give glad tidings to those who patiently persevere (Al-Baqarah 155)”. The sublime meanings that are expressed by these blessed verses, but rather the totality of the meanings of the Holy Book, are stable in the hearts, minds, souls, and consciences, therefore the fluctuations of the world, the storms of days, and the difficulties of time, no matter how severe, are incentives in the conscience of the believer, so that the meanings of patience and contentment can be found in the field of action and contentment, and also towards further consideration in the field of initiating acts of kindness and generosity towards everyone in need. The blessed month in this context is an auspicious field of travel in the field of certainty, as the unified believer is in the field of standing with the acts of righteousness in work and deed, and redressing the matter with all what he believes in, in order to be in the middle of life that bears witness to the courage of faith and the pure trust in the promise of justice and the divine wisdom, whose secrets are not reveled through regular thoughts and concepts.
Religion taught us to be aware of the principles of human values and ideals, and to the blessings of prayer, zakat and fasting, by which souls refine to live up to what God Almighty has desired for it, from dignity and preference. This matter opens our eyes with no ambiguity that the state of nations that have been ravaged by corruption, disrupted by disharmony, conflict and rivalries, and whose heart has been torn apart by the tendencies of people of narrow personal interests, are nations that will never have stability, neither will it have within its institutions a judgment or a decision. The official person in the responsibility seat, might commit the terrible mistake of not referring to justice and fairness, especially when the ethics of public responsibility don’t seem to transcend them beyond the worldly affairs in order to preserve the nation, and in preservation of the meanings of public interest, and in harmony with the reality of people’s representation, which by itself does not make the official the complete authority, but rather a representative of the nation and its unity by respecting its constitution, laws, and people without any distinction between one citizen and another except by measuring the trustworthiness of the concept of citizenship.
We regret to witness our condition today and the crises accumulated by very serious gaps at all levels: political, public, social, financial, and service-related, so that we have come to terms with the reality of rejecting the political assets that have made Lebanon a homeland, that is, the covenant and the rules of coexistence and active participation in a true heartful democracy which is not based on sweet ut sterile words.
The world we witness today is in front of crises whose consequences will not be known to anyone in the foreseeable future. Each country within its boundaries involves a frantic search for remedies for the current pandemic, and for pre-emptive ideas to anticipate the collapse of the economy, and to avoid the social crisis that foretells catastrophic fires as a result of the exposure of the terrifying inequality between citizens, etc. ... Relying on external support from any party will not have any significant positive impact, as long as the country is in a state of actual chaos. This chaos is due to the indication of wasting time without anchoring until now on any meaningful discussion on vital issues, the most important of which is the reform plan and all matters and issues related to it, but otherwise we witness forward movement towards confusion, sectarian quotas, maliciousness and denial. Confronting the epidemic in Lebanon has proven that joint efforts, starting with the Ministry of Health, through the activities of regions and towns, and the joint cooperation amongst the Lebanese citizens around medical staff and hospitals, helping those with limited or even limited income, are the efforts which create hope, and indeed achieve it. Our greatest aspiration today is that efforts continue for the sake of addressing the major risks in the areas of public finance, social conditions and the increasing number of unemployed people, and indeed those who are threatened by the risk of hunger as a factual reality, through realistic and effective governmental plans that would be fair to all segments of the society, through circumventing national patriotic acts through which Lebanon shall live.
We ask God Almighty to include our people, our families, our nation and homeland, and its communities with mercy; He who is the One to give us mercy, compassion, forgiveness, peace, and amnesty and amnesty, and we ask Him to make our days in blessed Ramadan of goodness and coalition, zakat, security, blessing, patience and contentment, for He is our solution.
