His Eminence the Sheikh Akl of the Druze Unitarian Community the Sheikh Naim Hassan received at the House of the Community in Beirut a delegation from the Muslim Scholars Aggregation presided by the Honorable Sheikh Hassan Abdallah, where his Eminence emphasized the necessity of pursuing all the efforts aiming at getting the Islamic nation’s sons closer and facing all kinds of extremism, as well as working hard to prevent the tension and cease speeches that provoke religious and confessional fanaticism, emphasizing the necessity of fortifying civil peace and supporting the State’s Institutions in particular the Military Institution.

Following the meeting, the Honorable Sheikh Abdallah declared what follows: “We have the honor to meet the Sheikh Akl of the Druze Unitarian Community his Eminence the Sheikh Naim Hassan, and we discussed during the meeting many matters, mainly what is taking place today in the Islamic World regarding the expiatory murder that attempts to separate the Muslims and all the society’s categories as well. We, at the Muslim Scholars Aggregation, have decided to hold an Islamo-Christian Conference to the East in order to raise the voice certifying the importance of this East with all its confessions and religions, its Muslims and Christians coexisting with harmony and charity. The expiatory conflicts that have recently occurred are an urgent matter that some political sides had worked for in order to reach purposes leading to the division of the region once again more than its previous division at the service of the Zionist project. As we hold this conference to certify that we, as religious confessions in the East are one and only unit and are seeking to develop the societies of this East, we have also emphasized the necessity that the Lebanese government that will gain confidence, would assume its obligations toward the Lebanese people, in particular for the citizen’s security and the solving of the economic crisis in the country.
