His Eminence the Sheikh Akl of the Druze Unitarian Community the Sheikh Naim Hassan received at the House of the Community in Verdun – Beirut his Excellence the Papal Ambassador in Lebanon Monsignor Gabriel Caccia and they discussed the general situation. It was an occasion for the Sheikh Hassan to wish the Lebanese people in particular and the Christians in general, happy feasts, hoping the upcoming year carries all the good, security and tranquility to Lebanon that is being marked by the signs of trouble and security apprehension, mentioning that the terrorist bomb that killed the former minister Mohamad Chatah was a dangerous incident which perpetrators are aiming to destroy justice and nourish extremism, in the light of the aggravated situation, the stimulated souls and the State’s Institutions immobilization.
His Eminence emphasized the necessity of the permanent communication between all the religions and confessions as well as the serious work for the consolidation of the Islamo-Christian coexistence especially at this serious period through which the other Arab countries are going and that binds us all to rise to the level of responsibilities laid on them to save the country and its people from the risk of falling into the mortal dissension.
