The Sheikhdom Akl calls the Druze in Syria to be aware and not to slip towards dissension

The Sheikhdom Akl of the Druze Unitarian Community addressed a call to the Druze in Syria and Jaramana stating the following: “We were shocked by the incidents and the intense reactions that happened yesterday in Jaramana and Ghouta region. You and we do not accept to slip towards dissension. In fact, this period is extremely serious and dangerous, as your seniors and wise men realize. Be aware of the attempts trying to dissociate your country, be wise and reasonable and do not be driven to the fire of fighting. The same way you proved your excellent courtesy in the reception of refugees and the relief and assistance of the unhappy people, always be obedient, and today in particular, to the recommendations of the Honorable Sheikhs and the wise men, be one strong and united hand to face the dissension that is being planned for you in Jaramana and in other places. Be conscious that power and courage consist today in solving problems with wisdom, patience and reason. This is the logic of the Unitarianism you adhere to”.
He added: “We call you and the sons of Ghouta, Damascus and Syria entirely, since we care for you and we trust your noble positions all through the history, to stay beyond the accidental conflicts. In such historical positions, we recall with pride and glory your unique ancestors the Sheikhs and the national leaders, principally the Sultan Bacha El Atrach and the heroes of Jabal El Arab as well as the righteous heroes of Ghouta (…)”.
