His Eminence the Sheikh Akl of the Druze Unitarian Community the Sheikh Naim Hassan received at the House of the Druze Community in Verdun, the Ambassador of the Iranian Islamic Republic Ghadanfar Rokn Abadi and discussed with him the bilateral relations between the two countries and the situation in Lebanon and the region.
His Eminence the Sheikh Akl the Sheikh Naim Hassan emphasized “the necessity of consolidating the ties of the Islamic union to prevent the dissension provokers from achieving their goals, calling the Iranian Islamic Republic, by its influence, to contribute to a political solution in Syria, in order to limit the bloodshed and establish the stability and reform.
During the meeting, the Ambassador Abadi said: “It was a pleasure for us to visit his Eminence the Sheikh Akl the Sheikh Naim Hassan and we discussed the most recent incidents on the regional and international levels, in the context of cooperation between the Iranian Islamic Republic and the Lebanese Republic, especially in the light of the agreements and memorandums of understanding signed between the two countries. The points of view agreed upon the necessity of strengthening the Islamic union and the Islamo-Christian union in the delicate circumstances and the plots elaborated by the Zionist occupying entity. The points of view were also unanimous about the fact that the problems of the world and the Middle East are here due to the presence of this Zionist occupying entity.
He added:  “The main principle of the Iranian Republic is to support the truth in front of the oppressor and the occupant. He also stressed on the urgent need of union to face the unique enemy who is the Zionist entity”.
Regarding the Syrian situation, he declared: “the incidents in Syria reached a stage where most international and regional parties certify the plan of the representative of the United Nations Secretary-General Mr. Kofi Annan, and this is a positive step. As the majority confirms the pacific solution, we hope, in the name of the Iranian Republic, that we witness a total stability in Syria as soon as possible and we incite all the parties to dialogue, emphasizing the non-intervention of foreigners to solve the problem in Syria. This problem should be solved inside Syria between the Syrian people and the government. As an Iranian Islamic Republic, we support the reforms in Syria since the majority of the Syrian people want to achieve the reform in this government and under the direction of the President Bachar El Assad. We support the claims of the Syrian people as well as the plan of Kofi Annan based on a pacific solution and the fortification of democracy. We also stress on the non-intervention of others in Syria, the vanity of the military solution and the seeking of a pacific solution.
