Beirut, on February 24, 2012

His Eminence the Sheikh Akl of the Druze Unitarian Community the Sheikh Naim Hassan “strongly and severely condemned the odious act that some US soldiers committed by burning copies from the Holy Koran”, emphasizing that “the States esteeming they are “Great” and calling for the respect of sacraments, religious rituals, freedoms and human rights, should realize that the perpetrators of such unworthy acts should be immediately punished, since they risk not only to provoke hatred between the partisans of the celestial religions, but to generate a partiality against another. This is the issue that all those seeking openness, dialogue between religions and adoption of coexistence concepts are working hard to prevent”.

In his declaration yesterday, his Eminence addressed a call to all, each from his position, to reject such acts and work hard to spread the spirit of religious conscience, charity and convergence between all to block the path in front of all those who are nourishing partiality from all sides”.

In a different context, his Eminence the Sheikh Akl the Sheikh Naim Hassan received at the House of the Druze Unitarian Community in Verdun a delegation from the two syndicates of the workers and employees of railroads and public transportation, presided by the two Captains Raymond Folfouli and Beshara Assi who informed him about the difficult situation that this service is going through.
