His Eminence the Sheikh Akl of the Druze Unitarian Community the Sheikh Naim Hassan received at the House of the Community in Verdun the pastor of Beirut diocese and its subordinations for the Maronites the archbishop Boulos Mattar who delivered to him an invitation to participate at the meeting of the spiritual Islamo-Christian summit at the House of the Archbishopric at the occasion of the pastoral visit that his Beatitude the Patriarch Saint Beshara Boutros El Rahi will pay next February on the 7th.
His Eminence the Sheikh insisted on “ the necessity of agreeing, at this difficult period of Lebanon’s history and the region as well, upon common principles that certify the consolidation of coexistence between the Moslems and the Christians, in a way that leads to the creation of an interior safety chain, since it is necessary to certify that the confessional multiplicity as well as the religious diversity in the countries of the region, in particular in Lebanon are nothing but an origin of wealth on which we should rely to develop the concepts of life that unites all the citizens and settle any dispute by dialogue, this latter being the only way that leads to common points”.
After the meeting, the Archbishop Mattar said: “We have the honor to visit this Honorable House and meet his Eminence. His Beatitude the Patriarch Rahi entrusted us to deliver a letter of charity and grace to his Eminence. This visit is meant to open the door for a permanent and continuous communication between the spiritual leaders. Let us hope all of them would follow the right way for the good of this country”.
