His Eminence the Sheikh Akl of the Druze Unitarian Community the Sheikh Naim Hassan received a delegation from the league of the former deputies, as well as the committee of the Islamo-Christian dialogue, on January 17, 2012.

His Eminence the Sheikh Akl of the Druze Unitarian Community the Sheikh Naim Hassan received a delegation from the league of the former deputies, including the former Vice-president of the Parliament Michel Maalouli, El Hage Ahmad El Ajami and Nasser Nasrallah. They discussed the general situation in the country and the Sheikh insisted in their presence, on “the union of the word and ranks, as well as the necessity to take the initiative, each one from his position, to accelerate the dialogue, reinforce coexistence between the Lebanese, activate the legislative affairs and prevent public life from getting far away from the values and the national and moral limits”.

After the meeting, Maalouli declared that the league of the former deputies including 179 former deputies seeks “to benefit from the expertise of its members and to strive in order to develop and reform all the public domains”.

He added: “We informed his Eminence about the activities of the league’s administrative direction at all the levels, including the committee of the national pact development, and the committee of the former ministers. We also insisted with the Sheikh Akl on the topic of the committee of morals and values and we obtained the total support of his Eminence for the awareness that the committee will carry out for the public opinion as well as the cessation of meanness and lowness of morals that appear on the press. We will accomplish this mission under the patronage of his Eminence and all the leaders of religions”.

His Eminence the Sheikh Akl the Sheikh Naim Hassan also received a delegation from the Committee of the Islamo-Christian dialogue including Dr. Mohamad El Sammak and the Judge Abbas El Halabi.
