His Eminence the Sheikh Akl of the Druze Unitarian Community the Sheikh Naim Hassan received at the House of the Druze Community in Verdun the member of the "Future" bloc, the deputy Dr. Mohamad Hajjar, and they discussed the general situation. His Eminence declared that in the light of the circumstances that are taking place in the Arab region surrounding us, and after the internal complications which symptoms have begun to appear in other places, it has become urgent and necessary that the Lebanese hasten to agree upon common principles starting from the pact of coexistence, so that they would be able to keep Lebanon far away from any repercussions or negative consequences that could occur at any time, this could not be achieved unless by the only language of dialogue.
After the meeting, Hajjar declared: “We visited his Honorable Eminence to congratulate him at the occasion of Adha. We also negotiated the internal affairs and the situation on the national field within the attempts of tension and continuous disturbance in Lebanon and between the Lebanese, maybe to keep the Lebanese situation in an ambiance of tensions and take the country as a hostage for what is happening on the Arab field, in particular the Syrian topic. The position of his Honorable Eminence was always to confirm the importance of the national internal union and the importance of union on the Islamic and Islamo-Christian levels, and to warn about the enemy that is watching us vigilantly, it is the Israeli enemy that takes advantage of the circumstances to attack Lebanon and achieve the projects it aims to. We certainly assured that after all people themselves should make their choices, whether inside Lebanon or on the Arab field”.
