His Eminence the Sheikh Akl of the Druze Unitarian Community the Sheikh Naim Hassan received at the House of the Druze Community in Verdun the apostolic nuncio in Lebanon, Gabriel Caccia, accompanied by his Highness Paolo Fauja and the priest Richard Abou Moussa, in presence of the consultant of the Sheikh Akl, the Sheikh Ghassan Halabi. The delegation carried a letter from his Beatitude the pope Benedict XVI and an invitation to participate in a conference for religions that will be held between the 25th and 28th of next October in Rome. During this visit, the nuncio Caccia declared "It was a honor for me to have deposited to his Eminence the Sheikh Akl a letter from his Beatitude the pope, and an invitation to Assisi in Rome for the holding of a meeting that will gather all the religions and which aims to join God, and reveal the truth of the way that makes us discover the unity and dignity of humanity. It is also a pleasure for me to receive the acceptation of his Eminence the Sheikh Hassan for the invitation and his participation, whether personally or by the one who will replace him, to the historic meeting that marks the twenty fifth commemoration of the holding of the first meeting and which was presided by the blessed pope John Paul II. We hope that Lebanon represents this association and this capacity to converge around the human dignity and the path towards fraternity and liberty.
As an answer for a question about the position of the Vatican towards the government's constitution, he said; “It is a complicated issue, but we hope that this crisis ends for the interest of the country.”  He placed this issue at the top of the priorities scale, in a way that is for the good of the society. If we agree upon this priority, we will certainly reach a solution for the government's constitution.
