His Eminence Sheikh Akl of the community of Unitarian Druze, Sheikh Naim Hassan recieved at the home of the Druze community in Beirut, the ambassador of Italy in Lebanon Giuseppe Morabito in a protocoler visit. His Eminence Sheikh called in his declaration for having reason, keeping calm and raising the insign of agreement among the Lebanese people and for moving away from what can separate them. It is an issue that obliges all the official, political and religious personalities to make continuous and fast efforts to avoid any slip that could lead to undesirable consequences. Thus, preserving Islamic unity and then national unity is imperative to form a government of national partnership that enhances the stability of country which is the responsibility of everyone, without exception”.
Moreover, he added, “in this context the logic of understanding among the Lebanese must prevail and dialogue remains the most effective option to solve all problems that threat the safety of Lebanon in addition to its unity and coexistence.
The Italian ambassador said after the meeting:’ the visit is a protocol within the framework of our tour on all religious personalites in Lebanon. Moreover, he added: “Dialogue is the only solution among the various religious confessions and political parties, because we should avoid violence because it just leads to more violence and makes any political solution more difficult. The ambassador believed”that the religious leaders have a main role to make peace and stability in this country, confirming that Italy supports those who work for dialogue, mutual understanding and peace”.
