His Eminence the Sheikh of Druze Unitarian Confession, El Sheikh Naim Hassan received in the House of Druze confession in Verdun the president of “Working with Islam Group” at the council of Catholic Archbishops in Switzerland the Archbishop Pierre Giacoco Gramba and the delegation accompanying him, in the framework of his spiritual visit to Lebanon and meeting the confessions leaders, in the presence of the committee member of Christian – Islamic dialogue Prince Hareth Chehab, and the president of the cultural committee in the confessional council El Sheikh Sami Abi El Mouna.
His Eminence welcomed the delegation stressing on “the necessity of communication and activation of the Christian – Islamic dialogue considering the dialogue the only way to find common points between the different categories either in Lebanon or worldwide.”
He added, “What unites the Christians and the Moslems in general is deeper and greater than what differentiates them. The common peaceful living from the Unitarian Druze confession point of view is a proof of the real religious forgiveness and a symbol of solidarity and harmony between the different points of view. This was confirmed and is also confirmed today by the history. All creatures are God’s families and the closest to him are the most useful for his families.
He also said, “We have to all work for a better world where values that rise humans’ prevail esteem, and the Almighty God is One for all humans. The reasons of conflicts that occur sometimes in multi-religious and multi-confessional societies are political and economic, wishing success for the delegation in its mission.
While the archbishop Gramba praised “the role of Druze Unitarian Confession and his view for the future, all along Lebanon History, give that this country is a sample experience of the common living between confessions, and he explained the multitude existing in Switzerland and the last opinion poll to refuse minarets. In this framework Gramba confirmed the church refusal of the opinion poll that took place with a clear position in this concern, and her concentration on the relation with Islamic confessions. El Sheikh Hassan offered a gift souvenir.
