Beirut, on December 03, 2009

His Eminence the Sheikh of Druze Monotheist Confession, El Sheikh Naim Hassan received in the House of Druze confession in Verdun the Deputy Ziad El Kadri who declared later, “It was an occasion to present congratulations for the Holy Adha in this house which also supports the unity and freedom of Lebanon, and all what joins the Lebanese. We repeat that we have to search for all what makes a space for meeting and dialogue, to limit our conflicts in their narrow framework, to stop the rivalries, protect the achievement of the government constitution, and go through the trajectory of providing economic, living and social stability, as well as aim to separate politics from living bread, and undertake reform which became an insistent necessity.”

He added, “We are in front of the stage of discussing the ministerial report in the Parliament, and according to my expectance the government of the President Saad Hariri will obtain an historical and great trust. We hope that it will constitute an additional incentive for the government to start its work in a way that fulfills the Lebanese ambitions. However the subjects of difference that are raised as the arms, cancellation of political confessionalism or Constitutional amendments need a calm and serious discussion as well as a minimum of agreement atmosphere, since we do not need anything that will complicate the matters and incite apprehensions. Concerning the arms and the defensive strategy, they should be discussed around the dialogue table provided that the other subjects will be discussed in a calm atmosphere to reach the reform of the political system and continue to execute the Taëf agreement.”

His Eminence received also the ambassador of Canada in Lebanon Marcel Baugi in a protocol visit.
