On the occasion of the Lebanese Army Day, His Eminence Sheikh Aql of Mouwahidoun Druze sect, Sheikh Naim Hassan called the Commander-in-chief General Jean Kahwaji congratulating him in the said occasion and delivered the following speech:

August one is a glorious memory celebrated by Lebanese people; it is the Lebanese Army Day. We respectfully salute this occasion and greet all armed forces who are thoroughly performing their national duties equally among all sects by the endeavors of its leadership, officers, commanders and forces. We do congratulate the army in this occasion and the country for its army, emphasizing our confidence in its wise leadership that has proved its objectivity, seriousness and ability to preserve the country’s security and the army’s union as a symbol of national unity.
We, Mashyakhat Aql Al Mouwahidoun Druze sect and the Confessional council of Mouwahidoun Druze sect, congratulate our Army on this day remembering the sacrifices of its heroes as well as its martyrs, who were ready to die to fortify Lebanon’s national unity, strengthen the country and preserve its independence and its people dignity. We do also praise that this institution stays the decent symbol for all the country’s institutions, and Lebanese people only hope in defending their land and dignity against foreign aggression, and in enforcing the country’s prestige by virtue of rights, justice and regulations.
Moreover, we thank all countries that supported our army and contributed in building its capabilities, developing its equipment and reinforcing its role, such that it becomes capable of facing all challenges, defending the country in addition to providing security and tranquility for all Lebanese citizens.
