His Eminence, Sheikh Aql of Mouwahidoun Druze sect, Sheikh Naim Hassan, met at the Druze Community House in Verdun, March 14’s List of Al Shouf headed by the Leader of the Democratic Gathering MP Walid Jonblat, and which includes members of parliament: Marwan Hamadeh, Nehme To’meh, Elie Aoun, Mohamad El Hajjar, George Odwan, Alaa Eddine Terro, and the Leader of the National liberal Party Dori Chamoun. Following the meeting, MP Hamadeh said, “We, as the list of unity of Al Shouf, the Mountain and Lebanon, came to this house which stands for the spirit of national reconciliation, agreement and co-existence, to give the greetings of Mr. Walid Jonblat and the members of the list now present; as a list, we represent March 14 spirit, diversity and unity, with its colleagues of the Social Progressive Party, National Liberal Party, Lebanese Forces, Future Movement and others… This diversity in unity has come to the Druze Community House to say that the building blocks of Lebanon, its constant independence, sovereignty and democracy, are the titles of this list and all the other lists of March 14 on all the Lebanese territories.”
The meeting with His Eminence was so exciting where, as usual, he called for the unity of the country, the gathering around the legitimacy, and the support of the President in his constant compromising endeavor, hopefully wishing they could meet him with MP Walid Jonblat at consecutive stations from that time until the seventh of June, the day of expected victory, if not certain, if God wills.
In response of a question about the bet of some candidates on cancellation, Hamadeh said, “Who bets on cancelation would be the first to be deleted from the list; consequently, this list, in Al Shouf particularly, would thunder with itself and its votes and the differences would really represent the unity of the Mountain of Christian and Druze and all other sects.”
ODWAN
MP Odwan said, “Our visit to the Druze Community House, today, represents the unity in the Mountain following the National Reconciliation by Patriarch Sfeir, where we all endeavored to build the stones of reconciliation and provide the atmosphere of co-existence in the Mountain; moreover, the elections, to us, are only a stage. The alliance existing among us is not absolutely electoral, yet national, based on national choices topped by the establishment of the state, the unity of the Mountain and the consecration of unity in Lebanon. Our alliance with the Future Movement, the Progressive Social Party, the National Liberal Party and other colleagues is far beyond the elections, to establish a homeland draft project and a state enjoying the exclusive right to be armed.”
He added, “We heard, few days ago, that the disarmament of Hizbullah is related to the disarmament of the Mountain. The page of armament in the Mountain is folded forever, and the page of its black disputes is forgotten, and every day we seek a new page because people want to live with dignity and brotherhood, and if we were in the past years unable to achieve all that is required in development, it is because the government was suspended, yet we achieved the spirit of coexistence in the Mountain as Druze, Christian and Moslems. We are involved in the elections to say that it is forbidden that the Mountain
