His Eminence the Sheikh Akl of the Druze Unitarian Community the Sheikh Naim Hassan addressed “a salutation of appreciation and respect to the Lebanese army from its command, officers, soldiers to its staff in all positions and wherever they lie for the defense of the country and the protection of the citizens, in a period full of challenges and security dangers from every side”.
He congratulated on the occasion of the Army’s day, “all the elements whatsoever their ranks and missions” stressing that “every noble Lebanese grows and gets proud with his army who have and is still offering precious sacrifices for the sake of the country”.
Furthermore, he expressed his regret that this occasion is happening while some elements of the army and the security forces are detained in Arsal and the country is still at this moment unable to return them to their parents, those who face all kinds of sufferings”, and he asked to “stop draining the government’s dignity and exhausting the parents in this file by ending its injury as soon as possible”.
He saluted “the spirits of all the martyrs of the army who were killed in the fields of honor”, expressing his concern about “the fall of some of his elements in individual incidents, which is a critical indication of a situation of tension and break loose that threatens the structure of the Lebanese society” and emphasizing the necessity of punishing any committer according to the law”.
In this regard, his Eminence called “all the political sects and authorities in the countries to take the army out of the circle of settling accounts and interests, to deport him from rivalries, and to offer them in return all the logistical, armed, trained and equipped support in order to be capable to face all the dangers especially the ones related to the Israeli planning and the cords of tension upon the disputes of the region”.
Finally, he incited all the political authorities to return the constitutional life to its normal status starting by electing a president of the Republic and returning the normal work to the parliament and the Cabinet for the sake of the country’s existence and survival and to ensure a better life for the citizens”.
