His Eminence the Sheikh Akl of the Druze Unitarian Community the Sheikh Naim Hassan stressed on the necessity of drawing lessons from the bad commemoration of April 13, 1975 that drove Lebanon and its inhabitants in the storms of fighting. He asserted that whenever the Lebanese succeed in gathering on the pact of their unique existence, the more they confirm their ability in making their country a leading human model in the sense that the politic has a noble goal that can be achieved in reality.

He added: “We have to see this fact in our history’s record, with reason and conscience, to choose the issues of it for which we deserve to live a free and decent life. We only have the will to unite on our national “message” that was truly and eloquently expressed by our constitution. Let it be our choice to save Lebanon by saving our people with all their diversities. The first result of this choice is the promptitude to elect a president of the republic as national voters, disdaining the small issues and the community’s tiny benefits and feeling the sense of being loyal and faithful to the benefits of the country and its population. It is an election that currently protects, although all the surrounding dangers, our army who make all the sacrifices for protecting the country and its people.”

His Eminence concluded his statement saying: “it is time for us to take the road to the space of hope that we offer to our people in order to be released of all these wars that have devastated many of our people, dreams and life. The rising generations have the right to be granted what we have missed through tens of years, which is a powerful, peaceful and liberal country that protects its sons and ensure to them all the ways to have an honorable and decent life.”
