Beirut, on February 14, 2012

 At the seventh commemoration of the assassination of the martyr Prime Minister Rafic Hariri, his Eminence the Sheikh Akl of the Druze Unitarian Community the Sheikh Naim Hassan gave out the following declaration:

His national and Arab mission always comes to our minds, as well as the separative periods when he has often been the first to preserve Lebanon’s civil peace and stability and support its resistance. He has also worked hard to rebuild and develop the country and offered his help to its citizens in the fields of education and work. We strongly hope that this would be an opportunity to consolidate the national union and dialogue and prevent the dissension in order to keep Lebanon in the frame of peace and stability, anchor the coexistence between the Moslems themselves, and between Moslems and Christians, and certify the openness of spirit and the fraternity between all the spiritual families.

All the Lebanese are also invited to preserve Lebanon’s sovereignty, independence, diversity and immunization facing the Israeli enemy.

From this spiritual and national position, we renew on this day the call to adopt the neutral political speech and open the horizons of dialogue, so that Lebanon and the Lebanese surpass this difficult period and reach the line of safety.
