His Eminence the Sheikh Akl of the Druze Unitarian Community the Sheikh Naim Hassan issued the following statement:

The souls unrest and the minds worries that these difficult days are provoking make us stick today as we always did, to the firm call to all the sons of our country Lebanon in general, and to the sons of the Islamic confessions in particular, in order to rise the spirit of solidarity and to certify that the national union and the Islamic union are considered as sacraments that should never be threatened.

In front of what happened during the last period regarding the worrying return to the tense dialogue language inside the country and the speeches and positions issued randomly, and that do not meet with the reinforcement of the interior harmony, we emphasize the necessity of moving away completely, permanently and with the efforts of all of us, from the confessional and even political tension, and strive to put an end to anything that might prevent the launching of the national dialogue again, since it will remain today as it always used to be, the only way to solve conflicts, bring the points of view together and keep Lebanon away from the fire of conflicts, hoping that the Lebanese and our brothers the Arab people realize the risks of being involved in the detours of the interior conflicts or violence. This is in fact the path toward the loss, and this is what we fear and do not wish to happen. We always ask God to keep all this away from us and to guide us on the way of charity, solidarity and strength, He who hears and answers us.

His Eminence also made two phone calls to the Mufti of the Lebanese Republic the Sheikh Mohamad Rashid Kabbani and the vice-president of the Supreme Shiite Islamic Council the Sheikh Abdel Amir Kabalan to exchange discussions and take news.
