Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds, peace and blessings of Allah upon the noblest of the Prophets and Messengers
The month of Holy Ramadan appears, and with the apparition of the crescent, radiates the sparkling light, and thus, the verses discern clearly between the good and the wrong. This light is much more than a glare radiating the long-awaited night, it is rather the divine mercy that the angel deposits in his messenger's heart, so that it becomes a message for men, and which delivers them by its significances, from the dark of ignorance towards the luminous space of humility, and promotes them to reach the paradise of Unitarianism. Therefore, we are in the beginning of this journey that we undertake every year to renew the repentance and stimulate our determination to move forward quickly towards the good, knowledge and certainty.
This is the wisdom of God His Almighty. The imposition of fasting leads to hunger, and which is, by the grace of humility and qualities of knowledge, a door leading to feel the Merciful and be converted towards the good where organs reside, arriving to the faith of the heart without deviating towards passion. Thus, the soul devotes itself for its God's mercy in the serenity of invocation. The soul stabilizes in the blessing of the group looking for the good, because God His Almighty granted obedience to His servant, as a dignity for him, a path towards the achievement of the virtue for his spirit and a path in life leading to the purpose of existence, and this returns to the most eminent perspicacious.
His Almighty said in his Holy Book: {O you believe! Observing As-Saum (the fasting) is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you, that you may become Al Mutaqûn (the pious)} (Al-Baqarah). In fact, fasting is a norm for the sons of obedience of the age of Adam, it generates the piety that is the most just way to discipline ethics. The one who disciplines his ethics, will be lucky to feel his Creator. For this reason, piety represents the good in its whole as the venerable ancestor considered. Therefore, if the abstinence from usual meals is the most obvious in fasting, this also forces us to abstain from the forbidden related to the organs activities and to the convulsions of the heart, so that the Unitarian realizes the ladder of obedience until it reaches the abstinence of everything other than His Almighty. This is a glorious aim by which reigns the good and blazes the light of the human virtue in the nobleness of beauty of the good.
This is the spirit of the Holy Ramadan if we return it to its significance. This means that if we practice this, we will accelerate our steps towards the fringes of repentance. On this path, a door appears to reform the soul, preserve its immunity, its union and its dignity at this time where apprehending the virtue of the soul is similar to the apprehension of coal. Islam teaches us that the goodness of the soul is the living core for the goodness of society, since one is incapable to protect his family given that he is incapable to protect himself. Also, the governor is incapable to restore justice since he is not just with himself first. This virtuous month constitutes a group school, since it gathers people under the wings of its blessing and the essence of its significances, with the good will, kindness, charity and sharing. The bread of fast breaking in its salt, is in itself an agreement on the word of God and a union in humility around the feast of the good and the divine message. No doubt that we are in an urgent need today in Lebanon for the bread of sharing, the salt of solidarity and the blessing of the gathering around one feast from which we all procure for ourselves the provision of salvation.
Our country is in need today, more than any previous historic period, of a spirit based on agreement, which was, not only the fundamental component of its independence, but also the unifying idea that made all its sons closer, in order to go for the establishment of the vigilant State, on the ruins of the conflict of the nations at that time. It is time for this phoenix to learn that the space of hope and the horizons of the shining tomorrow are more fruitful to him than the rumination of the repeated return to the ash. His way to life is nothing but the core of the circle of sharing, and not being limited to one sole opinion. It is time to understand the difficult but possible equation that offered to our country its unique quality, and which is that dialogue is equivalent to us. Yes, we are equivalent to dialogue and all its permanent requirements of the approach including the deep assimilation of others who are rooted partners in the entity. We support the great men who take today the position of the unifying option, and try with their considerable efforts to preserve what is meant to prepare for the return of harmony with which Lebanon exists or not. Thus, we remain like a strong edifice against the enemy waiting to attack, not only the stones and the men of our earth, but also our fortunes and the future of our children and little sons, pursuing its violations for the sovereignty of our country, by air, sea and land.
We hear about all what is taking place around us, especially the challenges that provoke troubles, in particular in the neighbor country Syria, to which we wish security, stability, prosperity, strength, rejection of violence and dissension, as well as the realization of reform and the prevention of foreign intervention in its affairs.
We stress on the significances of tolerance, fraternity, reconciliation and communication between all the Lebanese. We are looking forward to the revival of the Lebanese State by a global work, for the good, and for amelioration and immunization of Lebanon, as well as fortifying its national union and solving the problems of the citizens, whether economic, social or related to the conditions of life.
We recall our brothers the Palestinians and support them to restore the reform and pursue the struggle according to the requirements of the Palestinian interest, until the foundation of the State of Palestine and its capital Jerusalem.
In the Druze Unitarian Community, we raise our prayer in this virtuous month, so that the truth, the justice and the good always reign. We assure our sharp refusal for all the aspects of fights and dissension between the Muslims, or between Christians and Muslims. We also address an invitation to all people to quench from the significances of the fasting month and contribute to consolidate their union and widen the circle of meetings between them, and God hears and answers us.
