Declaration of his Eminence the Sheikh Akl of the Druze Unitarian Community, the Sheikh Naim Hassan at the occasion of the liberation commemoration, on May 24, 2011

2011-05-24

Beirut, on May 24, 2011

His Eminence the Sheikh Akl of the Druze Unitarian Community, the Sheikh Naim Hassan congratulated in his declaration all the Lebanese people at the glorious commemoration of the resistance and liberation, hoping that the rest of the Lebanese territories would be liberated from the filth of occupation; Kfarchouba hills, Chebaa farms and Ghajar as well as all Arab territories in the Golan and Palestine, in the same way as were liberated Beirut, Western Bekaa and the South, thanks to the sacrifices, martyrdoms and bloods of the Lebanese as well as their attachment to their territory, in addition to their resistance for the Israeli enemy and their persistence against its manifest attacks.

His Eminence called, at this occasion, "all the Lebanese to stick to the components of their strength in front of the tyrannical Israeli enemy today more than any past time, and to support the Lebanese army in a way that enables it to assume all its obligations in this field and to make use of the developed capacities of the resistance, especially that the enemy continuously violates Lebanon’s sovereignty by sea, land and air, and especially with the blindness of the International community towards the continuous violations of the Zionist entity for the resolution 1701 in Lebanon, as well as the violations launched against the Palestinian people in the occupied lands, concealing all international pacts and denying the right to found the Palestinian State and the right of returning to their land. "

His Eminence regretted the fact that "the commemoration of resistance and liberation comes this year in coincidence with the fatal emptiness from which Lebanon suffers in its executive power, and with the failure and paralysis of all its institutions, while political leaders are drowned in the sea of conflicts on the portions and portfolios, as if the country enjoys peace and is far away from all abrupt challenges against Lebanon and the region, forgetting thus the Israeli threats that never ended. In front of this, the Sheikh Hassan called all the Lebanese political leaders to observe what is happening around us anywhere, and lift themselves up to the level of the required responsibility that binds them to work hard for the sole interest of the country, to sacrifice for coherence, civil peace, stability and fortification of the country, and to learn from the resistant heroes who produced, thanks to their sacrifices, the pride of liberation".
