Declaration of his Eminence the Sheikh Akl, Sheikh Naim Hassan at the occasion of the reconciliation of the Palestinian tribes with each other, and the importance of stability in Syria, the neighbor country, on May 5, 2011

2011-05-05

The following statement was issued by the Sheikhdom Akl for the Druze Unitarian Community:

His Eminence the Sheikh Akl of the Druze Unitarian Community, the Sheikh Naim Hassan saluted all Palestinian tribes for signing the reconciliation agreement, thus, it was an essential meeting that put an end to the state of laceration that predominated the Palestinian society during the previous period, and this was reflected as an immobilization of the political and enduring struggle for their honorable cause.

As his Eminence hoped that this step toward reconciliation would not be the end but the first step leading to the restoration of all the Palestinian rights, the Sheikh called the tribes for the importance of being vigilant and very conscious in order to prevent any foreign penetration or intervention between them, which risks to deteriorate the situation. He also invited them to pursue the permanent dialogue in order to strengthen the spirit of convergence and fortify their main cause and the one of the Arabs and Muslims, Palestine.

His Eminence the Sheikh Akl, Sheikh Naim Hassan shed the light on the security and stability of the neighbor country Syria, given that it is necessary to go back in memory to the common history with Lebanon. He wished that Syria, in its people and leaders, rejects all the aspects of dissension and violence, and get over all the actions that took place on its territory. He also wished that the situation returns to its initial state and that Syria remains the resistant force of Arabism. In this context,  he insisted on the necessity of achieving - under the roof of stability in Syria - the reforms to which Syrian people aspirates and that have been discussed first by the president Dr. Bachar El Assad, hoping that its security and Lebanon’s security remain deep-rooted and fixed at the core of the historic site in the region.
