In the occasion of Hijra New Year His Eminence the Sheikh Akl of Unitarian Druze Confession Sheikh Naim Hassan pronounced a speech saying:  

In the name of God the most gracious the most merciful  

Praise be to Almighty God, peace and prayers be upon the Master of Messengers, his family and his companions, until the day of judgment.  

“It is a great memory, and an appointment with a renewed position for a glorious meaning which is the first of Muharram, the day the star of “the best community that hath been raised up for mankind” (the family of Imran 110) shined, so its lights enlightened the residence of the Unitarian meanings in hearts, and the Islam Hanif became under the protection “of a state” of which the Prophet takes care, around him the immigrants and the supporters, confronting the polytheism, enjoining right conduct, forbidding indecency and believing in the One and Only God who with his monotheism enlightens the path of repentance and guides to truth. Among the meaning of the prophet immigration that we have to stand before its indication, the meaning of stability on a position dictated by faith, and imposing to stand in one line as a compact structure before the ineffectiveness of void and conspiracies of corrupted, which requires from us to turn towards soul purification, and oblige it to enjoy eminent ethics, high morals and good attributes, so we will obtain the fruit of the great grace which is the reunion, the unity of word and the immunization of the nation against any fissure between its children and against any odious discord.  

He added, “We have to witness, feel and quote of the ideals which light shines in the real meanings of this great occasion, and we have to remind of the elevation and highness of virtue above any other option. For this reason, what we have to do is to pray God with a heart singing loyalty in its invocation so He will inspire the intimacy path to the national leaders as well as moral virtuous courage, to cross with our country from disruption impasse, conflicts, and exchange of words generating hate and aversion feelings, to the conviction deep-rooted in dialogue and cooperation, to honesty commitment under the slogan according to which the government was established and that is the national unity and agreement option. These matters require maintaining the unity of the poles around the dialogue table no matter the prohibitive reasons seen by others, because in the meeting principle itself there is profit to the country and people more useful than separation, divergence and sterile exchange of declarations through the mass-media. It is necessary to maintain the governance wheel by maintaining to hold the governing constitutional institutions sessions at their time. The democracy, no matter the names we create, is the discussion and exchange of opinions, and respect of consultation to reach the service of the nation’s higher interest.  

He concluded, “the first Moslems were able through their unity, and they were as the compact structure pulling together, to raise the banner of unity all over the old world putting the sound basis of a superior civilization that held the loyalty of truth, good and knowledge, and therefore the loyalty of the civilization for hundreds of years. We implore the almighty God to illuminate our minds recalling his grace and blessings in the meaning of this honorable history, wishing that our nation will spend it in honor, goodness and success, asking him to grant our nation love, peace and relieve, and that the Moslems celebrate it with happiness, success and blessings, my almighty Lord is generous and merciful.”
