In the Name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Verily, when He intends A thing, His command IS “Be”, and it is! (God is Truthful)
Praise be to God, Lord of the Flags; prayer and peace be upon the Seal of the Prophets and Messengers, and upon his family, companions and followers, the most honorable.

Welcome, dear guests,

     It is a pleasure to stand at this sanctuary in the town of Ebey, announcing, by the Almighty gratefulness, the revival of an edifice that used to occupy a dignified honorable rank in our hearts, minds and memories; an old traditional, educational edifice of luminous bright pages in our history of renaissance; an edifice for the building up of reason, acquisition of knowledge, and creation of a leading personality enjoying all the qualifications required nowadays to get into the struggle of life with strong will and high morals.

     Nonetheless, for such an edifice to stand still, we need to cross over the debris bequeathed to us by the lack of unified vision in the management of what could help our noble society achieve development and well-being. And here we are, thankfulness to God, treading the first crossing steps by virtue of the wise leadership that paved the way to attain that unified vision. Therefore, none shall arouse the uncertainty of minds and seek the abominable endeavor of distinction; instead, everyone shall seize the opportunity of productive work where fruitful outcomes are blessed by the virtuous and benevolent.

    The magnificence of celebrating the completion of construction, any construction, could never be competed except with that of achieving convergence and mutual understanding to overcome the tendencies of supremacy and falling, may God forbid, in the abyss of riot and dissension; except with the elite racing toward good deeds, and exerting efforts, with remarkable courage, to motivate the march of achieving the aspired blessed great institutional goals.

I appreciate all the efforts exerted towards this achievement, hopefully wishing it would be a unified incentive for more accomplishments, in fulfillment of our commitment to do good and faithful work in the service of the inherent noble people who have never refrained from granting sacrifice of everything they own in their support of the right and preference to dignity. On this occasion, we need to bind ourselves to loyalty and donation, and pump life in all fields of work for its benefit and the benefit of the generations’ ambitions and aspirations of a promising bright future. The goal of the Confessional Council is to elevate the community and its service in all field. "The believers, in their friendly relations, mercifulness and sympathy, work like the one body whose organs fall in fever and care whenever one organ is complained about."

    Ladies and gentlemen,

    We want this Holy Hadith, also, to be considered at the national level, because Lebanon as a whole is our region and its people with all its sects are our people. Therefore, the fact should be said, development in Lebanon is a bond among all its groups. Besides, a balanced development, if achieved with justice and fairness, prevents the risk of dispute and conflict of sectarian interests, unites the future vision of the Lebanese, and pushes them to maintain this blessing, which is Lebanon, granted to them by God. However, how could this balanced development be achieved except with the stabilization of State institutions and the consolidation of civil peace? How could we build nationality if we have pretended to have forgotten those who defended and fought for our country? We were and are still with the Lebanese University and the Official School, yet, what kind of knowledge are we seeking! Here, I recall the poet’s saying,

"Knowledge is but a test for all,

                                        Leaving its mark on each soul;

For the great, it is a bright beam,

                                        That lights darkness with its gleam;

For the humble, it is a glazing fire,

                                        That turns it to coal as a modifier.”

In this regard, it is worthy to notify that we ask the Almighty the prosperity of this scientific edifice, so that it could serve all the Lebanese regardless of their sect, to serve the human intellect and knowledge far from any kind of blind fanaticism, for we believe that fanaticism only exists in darkness, whereas tolerance, mutual support and affection exist in the light.

The coming days will witness the elections in the era of the consensus President, General Michel Suleiman; it is a national obligation that the citizen expresses himself away from the carrot and the stick; we hope we could pass this stage with a quiet political discourse to reach that stage of completion of the full implementation of the Taif Agreement provisions and the stabilization of the foundations of a democratic State.

    Last but not least, in the memory of Palestine's calamity, we pay tribute to this struggling nation, whose issue would always remain as prior and fundamental among the Arab, and as a deposit in the hands of the United Nations so as to be able of establishing an independent statehood for the Palestinian people and its capital Jerusalem, and of accomplishing the regulations that distinguish between the legitimate rights of people and terrorism.

    Peace be upon you,
