His Eminence Sheikh Akl of the Druze Unitarian Community Sheikh Naim Hassan received at the community house in Verdun-Beirut the Minister of Education and Higher Teaching Marwan Hamadeh and the Minister of the Human Rights Affairs Ayman Shukeir, where they have discussed the general situations.

His Eminence the Sheikh has wished the ministers Hamade and Shukeir success in their ministerial tasks; referring to the national importance and the great role of the Ministry of Education as well as the accurate responsibility regarding the file of human rights, which is considered as an essential element of the overall work. His Eminence hoped that things will lead to more consensuses regarding the overall issues in Lebanon in order to solve them in the spirit of public interests away from the factional narrow interests in order not to return to more crises that have always affected the Lebanese people.

After the meeting, the Minister Hamadeh has declared the following:

“We are honored to meet His Eminence Sheikh Akl  and we have presented the overall affairs of the nation and how the government was formed as well as the tasks assigned to it at this time specially that these tasks might need double the time allocated to it due to the many economic,  social, political and security challenges. We have  listened as well to the divine directives of His Eminence, which has long concerned us, and presented to him the opinion towards the proposed projects  of the election law and also of the statement issued by the confessional council of the Druze Unitarian Community; as we are seeking to work in order to protect the rights of this specific section for it to rebuilt Lebanon, protect and preserve its independence, Arabism and democracy, which do not accept to be marginalized or some of the forces deduct our roots and extensions at some point in our history. Finally, we thank his Eminence for all what he has wished for us, and we thank the leader Walid Jumblatt on this precious trust that has granted us.”
