His Eminence Sheikh Akl received Druze sect Sheikh Naim Hassan at the House of the Community in Verdun - Beirut, a delegation from the elite of Arab scholars and tribes, who handed him a “document of national constants and axioms”.

During the meeting, his Eminence stressed on “the importance of the Lebanese’s adherence to the constants of their common living, keeping their country away from all the burning conflicts in the region, and the flames of deadly sectarian tension, immunizing their internal peace without being dragged into the furnace of sedition”. He called in this regard for “activating the governmental and legislative work and not to overlook any initiative or any opportunity to fill the presidential vacancy”.

For his part, the spokesman for the delegation Ali Shahin said that “Khaldah constitutes an integral part of the mountain, which is very precious for them. The tribes are keen to adopt the requirements of co-existence, mainly the openness, the diversity, the moderation and the preservation of human dignity, as well as the benevolence to others, the thing that matches perfectly with the strategy of our reference Dar Al-Fatwa”.

He concluded by saying: “The co-existence’s components have proved to the citizen before the the political man and the leader that they are the pillar that guarantees the protection of the entire country, including citizens, entity, communities, cultures, freedoms, beliefs and sanctities”.

On the other hand, the imam of Khaldah’s mosque the Sheikh Mehyeddine Shahine considers “these meetings with their breadth and feasibility spread harmony, charity, comprehension and understanding in the society which we look forward for”.

He stressed that “Islam creates a mental openness and not closeness. We work under the guidance and direction of the Grand Mufti of the Lebanese Republic the Sheikh Abdullatif Derian, to broadcast the right and correct ideas about the truth of Islam and its core, which for its turn is keen on the human rights and dignity above all, and with this, thank God, we succeed regarding the mentality of our youth and our society in Khaldeh, where we consider the safe place of the community and the nation”.
