His Eminence called for serious investigations into all the crimes that have occurred since the killing of Colonel Mounir Abu Rujaily, photographer Joseph Bejjani, and recently the activist Luqman Sleem. In parallel, he stressed the need to give the investigations in the port explosion the full judicial attention and commitment to achieving justice in this tragedy on the basis of holding those involved and the officials accountable for what happened.
Condolences on Obaid's death:
To that, Sheikh Al-Aql expressed condolences to all the Lebanese on the death of MP Jean Obeid, and to his honorable family, whom Lebanon has missed one of the most important icons of political life, thought, dialogue, culture and journalism. In this difficult time, the need for wise figures who are able to build bridges and build trust between the Lebanese is becoming more essential.
