His Eminence, Sheikh Aql of the Druze monotheistic faith (Tawhid), Sheikh Naeem Hasan received at the community house in Beirut today, a Russian delegation headed by the Deputy Head of the Religious Administration for Muslims of the Russian Federation, the Mufti of Moscow, Sheikh Eldar Alaeddinov, heading a delegation of spiritual figures and businessmen in Russia, accompanied by the head of the "Solidarity Association" Haj Essam Bashir Barghout, the association’s Executive Director Riad Al-Khatib, and a member of the Board of Directors Sheikh Dr. Daniel Basbous, in the presence of the advisor to the his Eminence’s office Sheikh Ghassan Al-Halabi.
The Mufti Alaeddinov conveyed to his Eminence the greetings and appreciation of the Head of the Religious Administration for the Muslims of Russia, the Grand Mufti of Russia, Sheikh Dr. Rawi Alamuddin for his "unified and general Islamic stances" and his emphasis on "historical relations with the Druze monotheistic faith (Tawhid)." The delegation head also explained to his Eminence the objectives of his visit to Lebanon in order to implement projects dedicated to orphans and relief for some Syrian refugee camps, especially in the Beqaa region, through the distribution of food parcels and winter supplies (blankets, mattresses, diesel fuel) to 2,100 beneficiaries, providing cash aids to about 250 families, as well as restoring The homes of a number of families affected by the Beirut explosion through the Russian Zakat Fund.
For his part, Sheikh Al-Aql praised in front of the delegation "the old relation with Russia, especially during the days of the late Kamal Jumblatt, which will continue through the embassy in Lebanon," praising "Russia's support in many occasions and situations, and our appreciation for such good humanitarian initiatives towards families and children in need in Lebanon in light of the harsh conditions our country is going through today, during which there is a need for charitable and humanitarian work at all levels. "
Sheikh Al-Aql also received both the editor-in-chief of Al-Duha magazine, Dr. Muhammad Shaya, as well as Dr. Farouk Abi Khuzam, and discussed with them a number of issues.
