His Eminence Sheikh Aql of the Druze monotheistic faith (Tawhid), Sheikh Naeem Hasan received at the Community House (Dar Al Tai’fa) in Beirut, the American Ambassador to Lebanon Dorothy Shaya, accompanied by the Political Attachéat the embassy Minta Brodzinski, in the presence of the Druze doctrine judge Sheikh Gandhi Makarem, and Advisor to his Eminence Sheikh Ghassan Al-Halabi. During the meeting, the general situation and developments were reviewed.
The American ambassador pointed out that it is her first visit to the Community House of the Druze monotheistic faith (Tawhid) sinceaccepting her new position in Lebanon, confirming the US administration’s endeavor to strengthen relations between the two countries, and to stand with Lebanon at all levels.
Sheikh Al-Aql hoped that the various international bodies would extend a helping hand to Lebanon to overcome the great difficulties it is currently experiencing.
On the other hand, his Eminence received a phone call from President Michel Suleiman, congratulating Eid Al-Fitr. A number of national issues were discussed, and "emphasis was placed on preserving Lebanon and its unity, supporting sincere efforts to preserve its security and safety and activating the work of its institutions."
