His Eminence Sheikh Aql of the Druze monotheistic faith (Tawhid), Sheikh Naeem Hasan met today at the Community House in Beirut, Pakistan's Ambassador to Lebanon Najib Durrani, accompanied by Mr. Abid Hussain Shah, in the presence of members of the doctrinal council Sheikh Muhammad Ghannam and Dr. Rami Izz al-Din, as well as Sheikhs from the Irfan Tawheed Foundation. During the meeting, the attendees reviewed bilateral relations and strengthened cooperation between Pakistan, the Druze monotheistic community and Lebanon, where Ambassador Durrani extended an invitation to his Eminence to visit Pakistan, explaining to his Eminence the role played by his country and the Prime Minister in the areas of internal reform and facilitating settlement of disputes.
His Eminence welcomed the ambassador of Pakistan, noting all efforts aimed at establishing peace in all the world, especially among Muslims, and rejecting all forms of discrimination, violence and revenge. His Eminence indicated that the Druze monotheistic community was and will remain with tolerant Islam and against terrorism. In this respect the community had a series of contributions, whether in Al-Azhar conferences, the Islamic Action League, and other forums for the sake of peace, protecting the rights of people, and promoting dialogue.
After the meeting, the Ambassador of Pakistan stated, "Our visit to his Eminence Sheikh Al-Aql, the spiritual head of the Druze monotheistic faith (Tawhid), Sheikh Naeem Hasan, to pay respects to his Eminence representing one of the largest Islamic countries in the world, driven by the feeling that I must appeal to Muslim bodies and societies, especially the Druze monotheistic community in the current situation. It was an occasion through which we exchanged views related to the Druze monotheistic community in particular, Islam religion in general, and peace required in this context, as well as the position of Pakistan in the region and its relationship with Iran and Saudi Arabia and its role in the mediations it undertakes with its friends for this peace, and the situation of Muslims in India, particularly regarding the actions taken against Muslims in Kashmir. "
His Eminence also received his representative in the United States of America, Sheikh Sami Merhi, and discussed with him affairs related to the Druze community in USA.
His Eminence also presented the conditions of the Druze community in Australia with his representative in Australia, Sheikh Munir Gharzuddin.
His Eminence also met with the member of the sectarian council, Professor Hasan Ghazi, and the editor-in-chief of Al-Dhoha Magazine, Dr. Muhammad Shayya.
