His Eminence, Sheikh Al-Aql, Sheikh Naeem Hasan, received a message from Pope Francis about peace: ‘’Let everyone enjoy the true brotherhood, free from discrimination and violence’’

His Eminence Sheikh Aql of the Druze monotheistic faith (Tawhid), Sheikh Naeem Hasan received today at the Community House - Verdun, the papal ambassador to Lebanon Monsignor Joseph Spiteri, accompanied by Father Fadi Daou, in the presence of the Druze Sectarian Judge Sheikh Gandhi Makarem, and a member of the advisory body of his Eminence office Sheikh Ghassan Al-Halabi.
Ambassador Spiteri conveyed a message to his Eminence from the great pontiff, Pope Francis, on the occasion of "International Day of Peace", which included his vision of peace as a march of hope, dialogue, reconciliation, environmental repentance, and the concept of peace through fraternal communion.
His Eminence welcomed the papal ambassador in the community house, thanking "the great pontiff for his valuable message about peace that all of our people and the world strive for, especially in the delicate circumstances that our societies pass through at various levels, and that all people of the earth display the values of peace, love and true brotherhood based on foundations of mutual dialogue and trust, far from all forms of divisions, disunity and violent schemes. "
After the meeting, the papal ambassador stated, "I am pleased and grateful for the opportunity to meet with his Eminence, to present the message of peace from his Holiness Pope Francis and to congratulate his Eminence on the New Year, and I thank him for the gracious hosting; we talked about shared spiritual values and how these values are a reason to renew our relationship with each other, renewing ourselves and our relationship with the environment and caring for it. We also talked about the solidarity between the Lebanese and the beauty of this solidarity, and we hope the Lebanese solidarity persists and the officials bear their responsibilities so that Lebanon can overcome this crisis and form a government as soon as possible. “
He concluded, "We hope and continue to pray for the sake of Lebanon and its people, and we are always committed to helping this country."
Sheikh Al-Aql also received a member of the sectarian council, Professor Ghassan Rafeh, and lawyer Rabih Qais, who presented to his Eminence two books on “Legislative Mechanisms in the Lebanese System and Building a Society of the Rule of Law”, as well as the Director General of the Doctrinal Council Professor Mazen Fayyad, with whom his Eminence discussed the administrative affairs of the Council.
