2019-10-03

His Eminence Sheikh Aql of the monotheistic faith (Tawhid), Sheikh Naeem Hasan met in Dar Al Taifa - Verdun today a delegation from the Political Bureau of the Islamic Group headed by former MP Dr. Imad El Hout, with the membership of Mr. Omar Siraj and Mr. Bassem Al Hout. Several national and public topics and issues were reviewed, particularly the economic and social crises.
Former MP Al-Hout said after the meeting, "Our visit to his Eminence comes within the framework of the Islamic Group's keenness to continuously communicate and seek enlightenment from the wisdom and tolerance of his Eminence. It was an occasion to discuss national affairs and especially the economic crisis suffered by the Lebanese citizens at all levels, and that suggested solutions should take into account the citizens’ interests and their endurance level primarily, and there should be no exaggerated pressures on the citizen's pocket through taxes or the high living costs. There was a directive from his Eminence that reason should rule at this stage and that everyone should sacrifice for the sake of national interest in order to sail the ship through the numerous crises that surround us, and the need for Lebanon to be more cohesive to overcome these difficulties".
Al-Hout portrayed the Islamic Group's stance on government stumbling and political chaos. “The root problem is that Lebanon is going through a bad reality due to the absence of a unified vision for the government and the individuality of each team with its own program, project and vision. As an Islamic group, we call on all parties to drop selfishness, because the government belongs to the whole country and not to the parties in it. The parties should agree on a unified vision to overcome the difficulties, and any party that has a certain program, then it should implement it outside the government as a natural right, but not through the predominance of quotas and individual egoism, and this to empower the citizens’ interest through a shared vision."
His Eminence also met with the Commander of the Embassy's Security Service, Brigadier Walid Jawhar, accompanied by Major Hussein Ahmed, who presented with his Eminence a number of related topics, and it was an occasion for his Eminence to praise the role entrusted to Brigadier Jawhar and his appreciation of the critical responsibilities assigned to him, which is expected be reflected positively on national stability and to portray a good image to the world and to the groups that visit Lebanon. He also praised "the cooperation of the security services at all levels and missions to provide reassurance to the citizens."
