His Eminence, Sheikh Al-Aql, Sheikh Naeem Hasan met with the Follow-up Committee of Al-Azhar Conference headed by Prime former Minister Siniora

His Eminence Sheikh Aql of the Druze monotheistic faith (Tawhid), Sheikh Naeem Hasan received today at the Community House - Beirut today, former Prime Minister Fouad Siniora at the head of a delegation from the "Follow-up Committee of the Al-Azhar Conference for Citizenship and Co-existence and the Human Brotherhood Document", in the presence of the adviser to the Sheikh Al-Aql Sheikh Ghassan Al-Halabi.
After the meeting, PM Siniora stated, "Lebanon and the Lebanese people face deepening crises at the various political, national, economic, monetary and living levels that have contributed to the ongoing obstruction of reform over many years, which contributed in multiplying its severity and its negative repercussions. Thus, the Lebanese people feel great anxiety and are overwhelmed by anger because they see the Lebanese officials continuing to get distracted from the essence of the problems that Lebanon and the Lebanese suffer from, by denying the truth and the essence of its causes, and through reluctance and persistence of those responsible for carrying out the reforms that Lebanon has become desperately needing to implement and which are demanded by all in Lebanon and understood and incited by the friends of Lebanon in the world. These are the reforms that could help Lebanon to correct its political path in internal and external affairs and help to correct its economic, financial, monetary, sectoral and living conditions. He added, "For these reasons and following the national initiative presented by the Beatitude of the Maronite Patriarch Mar Bechara Boutros Al-Ra'i, I saw with my brothers in the follow-up committee – and we are a concerned group On public affairs and Christian-Muslim living in Lebanon, the Arab world and the world – and we were honored to meet His Beatitude, Patriarch Bechara Al Rai’ as well as Mufti of the Republic Sheikh Abdel Latif Darian, and the Metropolitan of Beirut for the Greek Orthodox Archbishop Elias Odeh, and today we are honored to meet with a great religious and patriotic personality, his Eminence, Sheikh Aql of the Druze monotheistic faith (Tawhid), Sheikh Naeem Hasan, knowing that we will continue to communicate with a number of religious authorities in Lebanon. "
He continued, "We have come to visit his Eminence to consult on the dimensions of these serious crises that are ravaging Lebanon and the current delicate and critical conditions that have come to it and the potential ways to escape it, especially that a positive factor represented itself through Patriarch Al-Ra’i's initiative to liberate Lebanese legitimacy from any siege by neutralizing Lebanon and avoiding the politics and conflicts in the region and the implementation of the international legitimacy decisions, especially those related to Lebanon, especially through Lebanese legitimacy in its national, Arab and international dimensions protecting Lebanon, specifically resolutions 1559, 1680, 1701, and 1757.
He concluded, "We discussed with his Eminence and listened to his insightful advice and thoughts, and we hope that by this constructive and purposeful consultation with Christian and Islamic religious references, there will be much good for Lebanon and the Lebanese."
